AMC’s training helps workers embrace this technology as an integral part of their safety protocols.
Delivers clear safety improvements
Together, our services have already demonstrated huge success with Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail, and we are now working with Translink to deliver the same results.

Success with Irish Rail
Under the National Development Plan, Irish Rail is undergoing significant investment to enhance its infrastructure, including maintenance and improvement projects. To advance safety during these activities, Irish Rail partnered with AMC to deploy Tended’s geofencing technology.
For 12 weeks, geofencing technology was used to prevent incidents and minimise project delays. This helped to enhance worker safety, improve confidence in safety processes, and achieve operational buy-in from Irish Rail’s teams. Track workers praised the system’s ease of use and the noticeable improvements in their work environment. The success of this initiative has laid the groundwork for integrating geofencing into Irish Rail’s ongoing operations.
Take a deep dive into the results of this in our customer success story.
As a result of this usage of geofencing, David Flynn from Irish Rail, was awarded the Best CCE Award for Safety Leadership during their Annual Continuous Improvement Day.

Next: Translink in Northern Ireland
Building on this success, Tended and AMC are now collaborating with Translink in Northern Ireland, marking the first-ever implementation of geofencing technology on Northern Ireland’s rail infrastructure.
The project focuses on preventing near-miss incidents and ensuring safety compliance under a T2-safe system of work. From earthworks and drainage to track maintenance and signalling, geofencing will play a crucial role in enhancing safety across multiple operational areas. Working with Translink demonstrates its commitment to protecting its workforce while setting a benchmark for the future application of safety technology in the region.
